The Scholar-in-Residence program is designed for U.S. institutions that do not usually have a chance to host visiting scholars from abroad, such as liberal arts colleges, regional undergraduate universities, community colleges, and minority-serving institutions.

 

>>Midyear Conference of 2006-2007 American Fulbright Grantees


Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2007, more than 40  participants enjoyed this 3-day meeting of grantees, board members, and FSE staff at, Hsitou Recreation Area, and National Taiwan University Experimental Forest.

2005-2006 Mid-Year Conference

The dinner,  hosted by FSE Honorary Board Chairman Steven Young,  was preceded by a social hour.  It provided an opportunity to thank host institutions and other organizations and individuals  who helped  the grantees to have a productive and successful experience in Taiwan.

2005-2006 Mid-Year Conference

The  twelve   2006-2007 Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs) in Yilan County  produced a DVD titled “Let’s Go Yilan” to be used in teaching English to elementary school children in Yilan. The press conference, held to announce completion of the project,  resulted in favorable coverage by three TV stations,  two  newspapers, and two radio stations. Student reactions were also enthusiastic.

To Taiwan

Grants are available for U.S. citizens to travel to Taiwan to study, teach, or conduct research. Since 1957, more than 850 people from the U.S. have come to Taiwan under the program.

 

>>Grants for Taiwan Scholars/Professionals and Students


To the U.S.

Grants are available for students, senior scholars, and professionals from Taiwan to travel to the U.S. for study or research. More than 1100 people from Taiwan have traveled to the U.S. under this program since 1957.
