1. Doctoral Dissertation in the U.S. Fellowships.


For doctoral candidates at local universities in all academic fields in social sciences, humanities, and the arts, who would like to pursue a doctoral dissertation topic by consulting scholars, collecting data, and/or auditing courses at a U.S. university or research institution.

    For those already possessing a master's degree who wish to pursue a doctoral degree in the U.S. in the social sciences, humanities, and the arts.

    For those who wish to pursue a master's or doctoral degree at the University of Hawaii, while also participating in the East-West Center Education Certificate Program.

  • All awards require that applicants be citizens and permanent residents of the Republic of China. Application forms and complete information about eligibility, terms of awards, application procedure, etc., which may vary slightly from year to year and from one type of award to another, are available beginning in May every year for awards beginning in September of the following year from:

    Inquiries should be made as early as possible, since the deadline for some of the awards falls as early as August 15. Applicants are also advised to take appropriate exams, such as TOEFL, GRE, or GMAT, as early as possible.
